The diversity of animals that live in the Pacific Northwest is what inspires my art. I live on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State and have always loved observing the shapes, colors and textures that nature uses to coexist. I use colored pencils to try to illustrate these details and simulate the patterns that I see. Often throughout the process, my human mind develops personalities with my subjects and by the time I have completed a drawing, we're pretty good friends!

Whether plant or animal, alive or inanimate, I love the process of learning about what I am trying to replicate; to bring my art on paper to life.
